The fast develop of the Internet access e.g. ADSL has allowed for a number of services using this communications medium. This includes remote diagnosis. There are many online tools whcih allow us to view your system remotely, with you express permission at all times. This allows for fast diagnosis and on some occasions correction of the fault in question.

It is an extension to the helpdesk environment where rather than try and explain over the phone we can actually view what you are seeing and take actions as if we were there. It does have its limits but can help.
